Audrey...right after a big kiss from dad.
We totally can't see you back there KT!
Oh KT, we love you DAD!!!!
Audrey doesn't hide the fact that she hasn't had much use for Kyle. She's super into "MOM" and always has been. Kyle has never (maybe once) given her a kiss without her erupting into a total temper tantrum afterward. Kyle always asks me when I think she's gonna start to like him. Poor KT! But...last night Audrey finally threw KT a bone!
In the middle of the night Audrey negotiates from her little pack & play for me to come get her. When crying quit working (I got tough) she started in with the "moms". Usually that works b/c I'm a total sucker. Last night I got tougher and the "mom's" weren't getting her anywhere so she stepped up her game once again..."DAAAAD"!! Kyle's reaction was the cutest thing ever. I literally watched him melt all over the bed. He could not believe his ears. He's actually been working with Audrey on getting a "dad" out of her for quite some time now. Every time she calls out "mom" and he goes to get her he says "daaaaaad" and points to himself. All of Kyle's efforts have finally paid off. I'm just wondering if it'll stick or if this was a one time thing for now.
Oh KT, we love you DAD!!!!

You can tell Kyle that Jed feels his pain. Since Natalie was born Jed has been desperate for her to be a daddy's girl. She isn't though and wants momma all the time. Although she does know when kiss up to daddy to get what she wants. They learn young:)
Don't you love the temper tantrums? Love those jammies!
Oh that is so fun. Braden is convinced that Brighton doesn't like him either... I'll have him come read this so he knows he's not the only one, and that it does get better! It was so fun hanging out with you the other day :) Let's do it again!
cutest little story!
(We're cracking up over here!)
"How exciting! We can feel the excitement Kyle must have felt."
I remember feeling the same way with my kids and being so anxious for the day they would actually say 'momma'.
Tell Kyle to enjoy the moment. All too soon the word DAD will become an action word......Dad, can you play with me? Dad, can you take me to the mall? Dad, can I have some money? Dad, can I have the car keys? Dad, can I have a car?
MOM is a whole different story. Once they learn to say momma they become abusive with it.
"Mom, What?" "Mom, What?" MOM.....?
They often don't really want anything. They just want you to be aware they are keeping track of you and that you had better be within earshot.
Can't help but have them melt your heart though when they first begin to learn and use those special words.
I love it that she can say both mom and dad now. She is adorable and I'm so lucky every Sunday to see those cute Sunday dresses especially today with the mini tiara!!! You are a super cute mom :)
Oh what a fun story!!! Thanks so much for inviting me to come and sale bows on Wend. BIG HUGS!! Oh, and happy b-day Bev... yes, and little late I know!wink!
This is hysterical....poor Kyle...but she's learning how to manipiulate daddy very quickly- he better watch out!!!
I can't believe Audrey can say mom and dad, I am still waiting for that precious moment to come from Owen. Isn't it crazy that babies this little can already throw tantrums?
